The idea of encountering a ghost or a demonic entity in real life is for many people enough to make you never want to go anywhere even slightly dark ever again. We’ve all probably thought about what being in a haunted house might be like at one time or another. Thanks to movies like The Conjuring 2 coming out next month, we’ll get to spend some time inside one…but if you want to actually be inside the Enfield residence where the infamous poltergeist terrorized a working class English family (and who wouldn’t, right?) then this 360 VR tour is for you.
James Wan‘s follow-up to his surprise hit haunted house movie again pairs Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as real-life demonologists Lorraine and Ed Warren on another case from history. This time, the case in question is the most documented haunting/possession account ever–the infamous Enfield Poltergeist, where a young girl was said to be possessed by the ghost of an old man who once lived in the little house. There was much talk at the time about the events being a hoax, but the movie certainly contends that they were real…and really, really freaky.
You can watch the video of the 360 tour above, or if you have the Samsung Gear’s VR you can watch it there as well, and be even more involved. If you expect this just to be your average, everyday jaunt through an old house, you have no idea what marketing for a horror movie is. Stuff’s gonna pop up and terrify you and you just have to be okay with that if you’re going to watch this video/do this VR thing.
And you can bet all sorts of things will jump out of the walls at you when The Conjuring 2 opens on June 10. Let us know how many times you got scared as poop in the comments below!
