Up, up, and away we go to our local comic book store to pre-order a copy of Superman #40. While for many, the shining star of the DC Universe is Gotham City’s Dark Knight, Batman, the publisher’s Superman series is also well worth your hard-earned reading time. Now, with the impending release of issue #40, it’s going to make a major splash as it is the first time that John Romita, Jr. will both write and illustrate a comic for DC. You don’t need to be Brainiac to understand why that’s awesome news. And to give you a little taste of what’s coming your way on March 25, we have the exclusive first look at both the cover and the solicit text for the upcoming issue.
Hoo, boy! Judging by that cover, it looks like Superman is in some major trouble with the powers that be. Judging by the issue synopsis, he’ll be going up against the Justice League, which probably won’t end well for at least one of the parties involved.
