The geniuses at Aardman Animation are at it again. After wowing movie audiences with Chicken Run and The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, the U.K. studio is unleashing its latest stop-motion extravaganza Shaun the Sheep Movie in U.S. theaters on August 5th. Based on the TV show of the same name, Shaun the Sheep is a spinoff of the Wallace and Gromit films; and Aardman is pulling out all the stops for the film’s American debut by doing what it does best — parodying contemporary pop culture.
You’ll recall the recent tribute/spoof of Marvel’s Ant-Man poster…
Now we’ve got the exclusive debut of the latest Shaun the Sheep Movie poster. This time around the film’s titular hero is channeling James Bond himself, as embodied by actor Daniel Craig in the poster for 007’s next film adventure, SPECTRE (arriving on November 6th)…
I don’t know about you folks, but I can barely tell them apart. The resemblance is that uncanny!
Written and directed by Mark Burton and Richard Starzak, Shaun’s big-screen solo debut sees him stealing a page from Ferris Bueller’s playbook and taking a day off. Only to find himself in a heap of wooly trouble when he and his flock wind up in the big city and are tasked with rescuing their Farmer! Shaun the Sheep Movie features the voices of Justin Fletcher, John Sparkes, and Omid Djalili, and features music by Ilan Eshkeri. Here’s the film’s trailer from Lionsgate…
