Exclusive: Meet the Characters of Vertigo Comics’ EFFIGY

Hollywood wash-outs. Human sacrifice. Murderous cults. These are all in a day’s work for the denizens of Effigy Mound, the mysterious, creepy town at the center of Effigy, the new Vertigo Comics series from writer Tim Seeley (Grayson, Batman Eternal) and artist Marley Zarcone (Madame Xanadu).

The comic, which debuts on January 28, 2015, follows former child star Chondra Jackson who leaves Hollywood for her hometown of Effigy Mound, Ohio, where she works as a parking enforcement officer. You know, the scum of the Earth? However, everything changes for Chondra when she’s tapped to investigate a bizarre crime: a fresh corpse turning up in an ancient Indian burial ground. To make matters worse, the murder scene bears a striking resemblance to a scene from one of Chondra’s old shows.

What follows is a whirlwind tour full of murder, mystery, and madness that will take Chondra and company into the heart of darkness and beyond.

In order to take you deeper into the world of Effigy, we have an exclusive gallery of character profiles to introduce you to the oddballs that populate the Seeley and Zarcone’s wild world.
