With each season of American Horror Story comes a new anthology tale, a brand new macabre setting, new campy characters and potential musical numbers, and of course, fantastically spooky costumes. From a retro asylum, to modern New Orleans meets Stevie Nicks, to a swampy 60s circus, American Horror Story has drawn inspiration from each season’s time period and themes to create absolutely breathtaking pieces. We’ve spoken with Lou Eyrich, the show’s costume designer and frequent Ryan Murphy collaborator, about the influence Coven‘s witchy style had on the runway and streets, and now we are pleased to announce that you, dear horror fans, can wear American Horror Story-inspired fashion for yourself, with Hot Topic’s brand new collection!
The American Horror Story collection features five different pieces inspired by costumes and characters from the show. Each one is directly inspired by a season of the show: Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, and the upcoming Hotel. Two of these outfits were unveiled at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, including the bellhop dress inspired by the new Lady Gaga-starring season.
