Exclusive: Funko Announces AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Black Widow Pop! Figure

When Funko announced its line-up of toys for Avengers: Age of Ultron in January, one key team member was missing from most of the collections: Black Widow. Nobody puts Natasha Romanoff in the corner though, and we’re thrilled to reveal that Funko will be releasing an Avengers: Age of Ultron Black Widow Pop! figure. Huzzah! I don’t know how Natasha would celebrate this–she doesn’t strike me as the cheering type–but I’ll do a triumphant fist pump on her behalf. Just look:

The Pop! figure features Black Widow’s new, slightly altered costume. It matches the threads we saw on the recently released Black Widow poster for Avengers: Age of Ultron (and in the new trailer), and I am head over heels for the new look. I also can’t wait to see cosplayers replicate that blue piping with electroluminescent (EL) wire.

I’m happy Funko put things in motion to get the Black Widow Pop! figure into the world. She’s a part of the Avengers team, she should be part of the toys. While it would have been ideal to see her included from the beginning (and I hope that happens future lines with female characters), we have her now. And she will be mine. I can’t wait to add her to my shelf. The Black Widow Pop! will be available in May.

While we’re discussing Funko and Marvel, this seems like a fine time to bring up a Marvel Collector Corps. Funko and Marvel have collaborated to launch this shiny new subscription box service. It begins shipping next month and will feature items from Avengers: Age of Ultron. The boxes cost $25 each but will have products totaling over $50 in value. Though the specifics of most of the box’s contents are a mystery, the first shipment will include a six-inch Iron Man Hulkbuster Pop! figure that’s exclusive to the Collector Corps, an exclusive t-shirt, another vinyl collectible, and two premium accessories. Let’s hope all team members are represented in the box.

Will you be purchasing the Black Widow Pop! figure? Let me know in the comments.

  1. Dani says:

Absolutely! She will add nicely to my redhead Funko Pop! Collection.

  2. Piratey says:

Do you even Funko bro? This notion that there is this lack of female Pop Figures is insane.

  3. NUTS says:

Guys, for fuck’s sake, it’s not Funko who decides what figures to make or not make. Stop making it seem like they are somehow the boss of Marvel here because that’s nuts. Marvel chooses. Again: MARVEL chooses.

  4. Richard says:

They probably didn’t release it yet because the costume and batons appear to be “new/unique” in this film and didn’t want [spoilers] before that trailer and poster were released.

    • Jason says:

That’s what I thought. And it’s also worth noting that there already was a Black Widow pop from Winter Soldier, but nobody made a fuss about Hawkeye not getting one until this set. The bigger issue with the female pops is that they design them all as so freakishly skinny that they can’t balance right and always fall over.

  5. Ash says:

There is no way I am not getting this pop figure.

  6. Amy says:

    Heck yeah!
