Exclusive: Fran Kranz Introduces Clip of New Film MURDER OF A CAT

Murder is a serious matter, and the murder of your best friend is even more serious, but people don’t tend to take it as weightily as they should be if your best friend happens to be a cat. But do cats deserve less justice than humans!?! In the new film Murder of a Cat, Clinton, a 20-something, living-at-home artisan action figure designer, played by Fran Kranz (Dollhouse, The Cabin in the Woods), finds his best friend is dead and the police chief (J.K. Simmons) doesn’t see a big crime and so does nothing. But things are not as cut and dry as they might be when Clinton finds out his cat wasn’t owned by him alone, and a mysterious woman (Nikki Reed) comes into the picture. It’s a modern-day Film Noir set in the suburbs and, again, is about a cat.

Above, you will find an exclusive clip from the film involving Kranz, Simmons, and Blythe Danner as Clinton’s mother. The film is out TODAY, Friday, December 5th, in select theaters and available for digital rental via iTunes and VOD. It’s directed by first time director Gillian Greene and produced by her husband Sam Raimi (yes, that one).

And for more information, behold the film’s trailer!
