⬠Everybody’s convergin’ for the weekend! â¬
Okay, so that probably isn’t the official theme song of DC Comics’ ongoing Convergence event, which pits disparate worlds from across the multiverse against one another in all-or-nothing fights to the death. But it is representative of the kind of jaunty, off-kilter joy that Convergence: Blue Beetle #2 filled me with. The series’ second issue finds Blue Beetle, The Question, and Captain Atom staring down the Legion of Super-Heroes, trying to resolve their dispute diplomatically rather than with fisticuffs. However, Ted Kord, as always, is too smart for his own good and can’t seem to keep his big mouth shut.
Written by Scott Lobdell and illustrated by Yishan Li, with covers by Bret Blevins and Chip Kidd, Convergence: Blue Beetle #2 looks like one of the event’s best issues yet. Don’t take my word for it though; get a taste of what’s coming your way in our exclusive preview.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“STARRING HEROES FROM CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS! A battle you never thought youâd see: Blue Beetle, Captain Atom and The Question battle an army of Legionnaires!
This extra-sized issue includes a sneak peek at whatâs coming up in the DC Universe!”
Convergence: Blue Beetle #2 is available on Wednesday, May 25.
