After the emotional trauma of Batman Incorporated #8 and the deafening silence of Batman and Robin #18, seeing Damian Wayne back in action is a bit like seeing a ghost. Still, the great thing about comic books is its capacity for Elseworlds tales that show us a future that may or may not ever take place. For now, the important thing is Andy Kubert is writing and illustrating a seriously excellent Damian: Son of Batman mini-series for DC Comics. In issue #2, Damian and the considerably aged Bruce Wayne throw down in a bare-knuckle brawl over the best way in which to police Gotham’s increasingly mean streets. Check out this exclusive preview of issue #2, out this Wednesday, from our friends at DC Comics.
Yeah, that’s pretty much how I imagine my Thanksgiving will go too. Damian: Son of Batman #2 is available in comic book stores everywhere this Wednesday.
What do you think of Damian: Son of Batman so far? Let us know in the comments below.
Couldn’t they come up with anything else besides a fistfight between the two…
Are you all dense? Of course this isn’t apart of continuum (they billed it as an alternate future), not only that, has no one read anything by Morrison (Damian’s creator)? If Bruce Wayne was alive but Batman died, who was Batman? Dick. It says it on the spoilers. Batman died this issue, but Dick is dead and Bruce is not.
So is this OFFICIALLY an ELSEWORLDS miniseries?
soy de cipolletti ,patagonia argentina no llega nada a mi ciudad de comics seria bueno saber como conseguir las revistas y aparte ni enterado que betman tenia un hijo
como los consigo?
Wait…what? The Batman that died in the first issue of this elseworld’s tale was Dick Grayson…
Why are people confused by this?
Hells. Yes.
So apparently, Damian caused the death of Dick Grayson again. So in Elseworld stories, is Dick’s kryptonite is escrima sticks and falling into rocks? Also, unless Bruce faked his death in the first issue, we all knew he would disapprove of Damian executing those who took credit for killing Batman, but i would have at least thought he would have been touched by Damian trying to locate the person who really killed his father. One more thing, he was also mentioned in the previous issue but where is Tim and Jason?
Wait… Why is Bruce still alive if Damian is? Why is Damian running around executing criminals while Batman is still around? Why is he even killing criminals? He got past that phase, and only would end up killing again if Batman Incorporated went wrong (resulting in the future from Batman #666 that this supposedly leads to). What does this have to do with Batman Incorporated?
