EXCLUSIVE: Check Out The First Episode of Sina Grace’s SELF-OBSESSED

A comic book making a jump to live-action film or television is not exactly out of the norm these days. Everywhere you look, some superhero book is becoming a new movie or one of those post-apocalyptic death comics is becoming a cable series. That said, Sina Grace’s Self-Obsessed is is something else entirely. As a comic it was personal, human, dark, funny, and heartfelt. Now, as a weekly web series, it’s all those things but in a slicker package and set to killer soundtrack.

As big, big fans of Grace’s work, we are beyond stoked to be premiering the very first episode of Self-Obsessed. It’s NSFW, so if you’re at work and you boss has problems with phrases like “balls deep in man meat,” you might want to wait until you get home. It’s graphic with a capital G, but that’s sorta what we love about it. Sina doesn’t shy away from, well, anything, so if you can’t handle all the sexual energy dripping off of this thing (maybe that’s an exaggeration) then steer clear, you prude.

It’d be easy to write off this project as pure vanity, but there’s so much more going on. Like the comic the series was spawned from, Self-Obsessed is about its lead character finding his way in life. Grace is confident and witty, but also filled with soul-crushing levels of doubt. He’s an artist that doesn’t know how to be anything other than an artist, and that doesn’t always make for the easiest road in life.

So, go buy the comic and then watch the first episode above. New episodes are set to premiere weekly. Grace is hitting the con trail with appearances at Wonder Con, Emerald City Comic Con, and San Diego Comic-Con, and is also expanding the comic with new content set to debut this Spring. When it comes to talking about himself, Sina Grace has a lot on his plate.
