Extortion and the business of racketeering isn’t for those who lack the intestinal fortitude to stand their ground and make sometimes unreasonable or unseemly demands of other people. It definitely isn’t for those who lack the temerity to stand face to face with a massive otherworldly being with potentially world-threatening powers. Fortunately for us, Thatcher Jerome doesn’t have any such qualms, and he’s intent on showing the Ambassador just how things work in Astro City, particularly if you infringe on the longshoremen’s union’s territory. I think that Astro City is one of the best comic series ever. Kurt Busiek and Brent Anderson hit it out of the park every time. I am excited to see these collected as a graphic novel.
