Have we reached Star Wars saturation yet? Of course not! We can’t ever get enough! In fact, it’s been kind of an amazing nerdy dream to see all sorts of Star Wars content coming out of the woodwork lately. With The Force Awakens days away (we can’t believe it either) there’s just so much to love! Things like ice cream, luggage, MST3K mash-ups, and regular ol’ Star Wars news has us grinning ear to ear.
The folks over at Sploid are just as excited as we are. With the help of artist Scott Park, they created the neat art above depicting all the vehicles from the original Star Wars trilogy. Starting with a Stormtrooper for scale (because there really isn’t a more reliable and universal system of measurement than that), the animation shows each vehicle from the smallest (Ewok glider) all the way up to the biggest (The Death Star).
Set to Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes’ “Mad About Me” (otherwise known as The Cantina Band song), it’s somewhat surprising to see the difference in vehicle size. Also surprising is that the cantina song has a name like “Mad About Me” and I am now — at 32 years old — just learning that it had a name at all. I’ve always assumed that Boba Fett’s Slave 1 was a bit bigger than an X-wing since it was basically his house, or that Jabba’s Pleasure Barge was larger than the Millennium Falcon. In both instances I was wrong.
Scott Park is also selling the drawings in print form that can be found here along with some other pop culture inspired things.
Did these drawings change what you thought about Star Wars vehicles? Let us know in the comments below!
