Ernie Hudson Shoots a Cameo for GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot

Earlier this year, original Ghostbusters stars Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray lined up cameo roles in Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters reboot. Now, Ernie Hudson has made his cameo appearance in the new Ghostbusters movie…and just in time!

Hudson was spotted on the set of Ghostbusters on the final day of principal photography, but there are currently no details about which character he will portray. Hudson played the fourth Ghostbuster, Winston Zeddemore, in the original film in 1984, and he reprised his role in 1989’s Ghostbusters 2. Hudson, Murray, Aykroyd, and the late Harold Ramis also provided their voices for Ghostbusters: The Video Game in 2009.

Outside of the Ghostbusters franchise, Hudson is best known for his roles in HBO’s Oz, The Crow, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, and Miss Congeniality in addition to his more recent appearances in Scorpion and Once Upon a Time.

The new Ghostbusters lineup consists of Kristen Wiig as Erin Gilbert, Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holtzman, Melissa McCarthy as Abby Yates and Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan. The reboot reportedly takes place in a world where the original film never happened. So in this continuity, the female Ghostbusters are the only Ghostbusters.

Thor star Chris Hemsworth also appears in the movie as the Ghostbusters’ new secretary, with Andy Garcia as the Mayor of New York City, Michael K. Williams as Hawkins, Matt Walsh as Rourke, and Neil Casey as the villain of the movie.

Ghostbusters will materialize in movie theaters on July 22, 2016.
