Hey, I happened to be meandering around the Entertainment Weekly website when I happened upon their list of the “five best stand-up albums of the year” for 2012. Guess who was on it? Well, yes, Tig Notaro’s brilliant Live was on it. And Paul F. Tompkins, John Mulaney, and Hannibal Buress, too. But right there with those comedy luminaries was our own Jonah Ray with Hello, Mr. Magic Plane Person, Hello.
We’re SO PROUD.
EW calls Jonah “perhaps the (Nerdist) collectiveâs darkest member” and says that “he has blended together many of his obsessions into one massive blast of insecurity and hilarity.” Sounds about right.
You can buy the EP as a digital download through iTunes; the white vinyl edition, alas, is out of print. Shoulda listened to us when we told you about it before….
We need a Pussy Talkin Jonah comedy album. I love PTJ!
Being a Jonah Ray-pist of course I had to buy it
The album is on Amazon as well …
http://www.amazon.com/Hello-Magic-Plane-Person-Explicit/dp/B0080H5UBO/ref=sr_shvl_album_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1356633591&sr=301-1
This album was worth every penny. I loved Jonah’s first album and really really love his second. I also have a signed copy of the album! (Also signed by Joel Hodgson #majorsquee)
In all seriousness, if you like laughing than this album is for YOU!
More than three cheers for Jonah!
Yes, iTunes is the Raptor Devil. Are there any previews to hear?
What’s keeping this off of Amazon, you know, the company who chooses to sponor the Nerdist? I’d much rather buy shit through Amazon, and keep itunes off my computer.
I’m so lonely.
Jonah isn’t the darkest member of nerdist, matt mira is.
Congratulations Jonah! I am so happy and excited for all the accomplishments that are happening at Nerdist.
