Emily Kinney, Neko Case, Nick Hornby: Your Podcast Preview

What’s coming up this week on the Nerdist Podcast Network? Glad you asked. (You DID ask, didn’t you? Yes? No? What?) Here are some of the goodies being prepared fresh for you (subject, as always, to scheduling and production factors…):

Emily Kinney will be on the Nerdist Podcast to a) talk about her experiences on The Walking Dead and b) sing us a few songs. She’ll tell you about dealing with fans, loving New York, and making music, including her new album This Is War.

Speaking of music, Neko Case returns to the Nerdist Podcast and it’s another very entertaining conversation about music, performing, and life on the ol’ tomato farm. If you want the complete Neko, she’s got a boxed set of all of her solo stuff, eight albums’ worth, on vinyl coming out: go to her website for the preorder links.

And one of my favorite writers, Nick Hornby will be on the Nerdist Podcast in an episode we haven’t yet recorded, so it’ll be extra fresh, right? Fever Pitch, High Fidelity, About a Boy, A Long Way Down, screenplays, music criticism… you know this one’s going to be must-listen.

What else? Tom Martin will be back for Part 2 of a two-part Todd Glass Show.

And I have to insist that you listen to one absolutely great Nerdist Writers Panel recorded at L.A. Podfest with Sarah Gertrude Shapiro and Marti Noxon of UnREAL, Kim Benabib and Roberto Benabib (The Brink), Jeff Greenstein (practically every show ever), Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Stephen Falk (You’re the Worst, Phillip Iscove (Sleepy Hollow, and Will Widger (the Black List-endorsed Munchkins, Lumberjanes). This is one of two epic panels recorded at the Podfest; I was there and you will not be sorry if you take the time to listen. Heartily endorsed.

As are all of our shows, so make haste to the Nerdist Podcast Network homepage and Facebook page to make sure you don’t miss a thing. Now, I’m heading off for a couple of weeks’ hiatus to celebrate a personal milestone with much food and drink and fun in unfamiliar surroundings. In the meantime, your podcast postings will be in the more than capable hands of your pals and mine Katie Levine (accompanied, as always, by Scout) and Aristotle Acevedo. Talk to you later….
