Eli Roth Grosses Us Out Again in New CABIN FEVER Trailer

In 2000, Rider Strong thought he was playing Shawn Hunter for the last time. 2 years later, he starred in Eli Roth’s directorial debut Cabin Fever. Fast forward to 2016 and thanks to today’s current trends, we find some unsurprising things. Rider Strong is back playing Shawn Hunter on Girl Meets World, and we now have the trailer for the reboot of Cabin Fever.

Taking a page out Sam Raimi’s book with the 2013 Evil Dead remake, Eli Roth is executive producer of this version, handing the baton to Travis Zariwny. The movie tells the story of five college-age friends who decide to get away for the weekend at a lake cabin, and are slowly driven mad, and well, dead by a mysterious flesh-eating virus. Add to that, the locals who seem just as crazy without even needing the virus, and you have a recipe for an extremely poor Yelp review.

I remember the gore factor watching the first one. Roth has not let up in that department since, so I assume that this new version will do everything in its power to outdo the original. Virus-infected dogs is definitely a good first step.

One has to question whether or not a reboot of a movie that’s relatively not that old is a good thing. Then again, we will be seeing the third incarnation of Spider-Man this May, so it seems that anything is fair game.

Cabin Fever, starring Gage Golightly, Matthew Daddario, and Nadine Crocker opens in theatres February 12.

So what do you think–is the world ready for a new version of Cabin Fever? What if it turns out the only cure is more cowbell? Let me know on Twitter or put on some hand sanitizer in the comments below.
