30 years ago, Beverly Hills Cop was one of the big milestones in the meteoric rise of Eddie Murphy. Now, a score of years after Beverly Hills Cop III and a potential TV adaptation, Murphy is set to reprise his role as Axel Foley in a fourth installment of the franchise at Paramount in March of 2016. Â
Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the original Beverly Hills Cop, is back producing this sequel with a script from the writers of the brand new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well as Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec. We have yet to see how Michael Bay’s live action TMNT will fare, but the latest Mission Impossible was possibly the best of the entire franchise.Â
In this fourth film, Det. Axel Foley will be revisiting his Detroit roots. That plot detail may be vague, but the fact that Murphy is back as Foley should have you humming the Beverly Hills Cop theme for awhile.

That one was one of those films that’s fun to think about and will probably never happen but would love to see it.
Wont be the same without Murphy shouting ‘Hey! its the eightys man’.
or ‘You’re not going to fall for the banana in the tailpipe’.
Coz babyyyy…. love never felt so good
How about a new idea instead of endless reboots and sequels rehashing the same old ideas over and over and over again forever?
lol jk… new ideas… crazy talk!
How about a Delirious or Raw sequel instead?
Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh-heh, heh! Heh, heh, heh, heh-heh, heh-heh! Heh, heh, heh, heh-heh, heh, and then another heh, heh, heh-heh, heh!
Ok… so NOT a reboot then…? Clearly says sequel, and if Murphy is playing Axel, it doesn’t sound at all like a reboot… so what’s with the headline?
