Don’t Worry, Whedonites, a DR. HORRIBLE Sequel Will Happen

Remember back in 2008 when the brothers Whedon (Joss, Jed, and Zack) gathered up a group of their famous friends and created Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog? It was a magical time, uniting Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day, and Nathan Fillion in supervillainry and song. And after the popularity of the series began to increase, fans begged for more, subsequently proving — even in a time when there was no such thing as “success” in a webseries world — that there could be a market for something professionally done in the digital landscape. Soon thereafter, Whedon confirmed there would be a sequel.

That was, of course, years ago. And much time has passed since the series premiered — though its appreciative fans have far from waned. In fact, they’re even larger in number and as desperate as ever to see the second installment, which prompted Entertainment Weekly to ask the question again. To which brother Jed responded in kind:

“We know we have spoken publicly about a sequel in the near distance and our passion to create it, and I promise we have not been insincere. Horrible is still one of our favorite creations by humans who were also us. We have many songs written and the plot outlined, but needless to say, we’ve been busy. Joss has had a hectic couple of years and is in the middle of the busiest year of his life, as is Zack and as are we. Also the actors have other things they’re acting in, I think. So the future is uncertain, our passion remains. DH2 will exist, in some format or another, at some point in the future. Unfortunately, the when is still unclear.”

So there you have it, Sing-Along fans. Now if only we could freeze-ray the world until our favorite aspiring supervillain returned. (Isn’t impatience a virtue?)

Are you looking forward to a Dr. Horrible sequel? Let us know in the comments.

One more issue is that video games are usually serious naturally with the primary focus on knowing things rather than enjoyment. Although, it has an entertainment element to keep children engaged, every game is generally designed to work with a specific expertise or curriculum, such as mathematics or science. Thanks for your posting.

What Joss really need is a Kickstarter campaign where we donate our time to him. Come on, people. Who wouldn’t give up a year of your life for a Doctor Horrible sequel. They might even put your name in the credits and everything.

  19. I hope they do ELE tryouts again, because I’ve been stepping up my evil game, writing songs for his Horribleness, waiting for him to fall in love with me. Proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVaq6GHtLwI
