The 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who was a pretty amazing time for me, and millions of Who fans the world over. There were DVD releases, TV documentaries, special merchandise, and even an official convention in London all to celebrate television sci-fi staying power. But it was all leading to the big episode itself–“The Day of the Doctor.” The main reason this episode was such a blast was the team-up and interplay between Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith and Tenth Doctor David Tennant, not to mention War Doctor John Hurt. But if fans wanted to see what Tennant would be like teamed with current Doctor Peter Capaldi, a fan photo might give you a glimpse.
Over the weekend, Tennant and Smith were official guests of the Wizard World NYC convention and not only did the pair share the stage for a Q&A, they also took a bunch of photos with the fans. Always the good sports, the pair of former Doctors posed in silly ways, held props, and even pretended a little kid with a gas mask on was really “The Empty Child” (even though neither of those Doctors ever met that kid).

But maybe the greatest thing to ever happen in the history of hyperbole came when Tennant and a fan both dressed up like the Twelfth Doctor for the enjoyment of everyone on the internet.

It didn’t take long for fans to get really, really excited and start sharing it all over, cutting out the original fan, but still.

As Metro.co.uk mused, maybe this will lead to Capaldi cosplaying as the Tenth Doctor in the near future. Those Scottish Doctors have to stick together. Better call Sylvester McCoy.
Are you as in awe of David Capaldi as we are? Let us know in the comments below!
And here’s what we think Peter Jackson could do when he directs a Doctor Who episode. Speculate away!
