DOCTOR WHO Will (Finally) Give the Doctor’s Daughter Her Own Adventures

After a decade of wondering what happened to Doctor Who‘s Jenny, the clone daughter of the Doctor played by Georgia Moffett, we’re getting a host of audio adventures featuring the soldier who knew how to fight and how to die. It’s a little insane that we never saw more of her in the series, but this new group of stories is fantastic news.

According to the Radio Times, the audio adventures from, no surprise, Big Finish will be recorded this summer with Moffett in the starring role. They should be available later in the year, although there’s no information on how many shows there will be. What we do know is that Jenny will be gallivanting through space (and time if she can find the transport) with a male companion played by Sean Biggerstaff, who played Oliver Wood in the Harry Potter movies, and who has probably never heard a joke about his last name(s).

Jenny-Doctor-Who

Jenny was a notable bright spot in the already-excellent fourth series in which David Tennant had really dug his heels into the Doctor, Catherine Tate was crushing souls with one-liners as Donna, and Freema Agyeman wasn’t quite as moony-eyed as Martha. It was a shame we never got see more of the super soldier created by humans using the Doctor’s DNA, which is why this audio series feels like Big Finish is, once again, filling in gaps and picking up slack left behind by Doctor Who‘s endless imagination and finite episode count.

Obviously this announcement comes on the heels of the massive news that the Doctor will be a woman for the first time, played by Broadchurch star Jodie Whittaker. Is it too much to hope for a mother/daughter reunion in the 11th series?
