With less than three weeks until the arrival of Christmas AND the final outing of Twelve on Doctor Who, the BBC (and BBC America) have released the final trailer for the specialâand it looks like Twelve is out to make a point.
In the footage, which shows much more of final companion Bill (Pearl Mackie) and the mysteriously dubbed Mark Gatiss character, the General, Capaldi’s Doctor seems hellbent on showing everyone, well, something. It’s almost as if he’s setting up this latest regeneration to prove a point. (Gee, wonder what that could be…)
It looks as though the two Doctors will do what multiple Doctors always love to do when they’re on screen together: bicker and fight over how terrible their latest regeneration has made them.
But don’t think there won’t be a little fanfare for Capaldi’s farewell. Immediately following “Twice Upon A Time,” BBC and BBC America will air an all-new special titled, Doctor Who: Farewell to Peter Capaldi. Narrated by actor Colin McFarlane ( Jonathan Moran in “Under the Lake” and “Before the Flood”), the episode will feature archival footage and interviews, as well as a look back at Peter Capaldi’s era as the Twelfth Doctorâfrom his very first script read through to his very last. It will also feature, the BBC stated in a press release, “Steven Moffat reflecting upon his time as a writer and then later as executive producer, revealing some of his best and worst moments from his tenure, as well as his favorite episodes.”
