DOCTOR STRANGE Takes to the Streets in New Set Photos

After experiencing the crumbling of friendships in May’s Captain America: Civil War, Marvel fans will be taken to the world of magic this November with Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme. A few months ago, we got to see Cumberbatch in costume for the first time, and now we have some behind the scenes pics featuring the costume in action.

Here is Cumberbatch’s Strange and Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) in an original photo tweeted by director Scott Derrickson. (Whatever threat they are looking at, Mordo does NOT seem too impressed with it.) I am a huge fan of the way they were able to make his costume look both very much like the comic book, but at the same time not make it look over the top, which can sometimes take a person out of the movie.

Here, it actually does look like they are facing some sort of threat. Either that or they have just found the Emerald City and are skipping with excitement.

A few more photos leaked via Twitter accounts including Cumberbuddy, showing Strange jumping into action and taking the “unleashing-a-spell” stance that you’ll recognize from the comics.

While the pics don’t tell us a whole lot other than Strange and Mordo team up at some point during the film (probably the beginning), seeing Cumberbatch in action gets me all the more excited for this fall.

Doctor Strange, also starring Rachel McAdams and Tilda Swinton, opens in theaters November 4.

So what do you think? Are you excited for Doctor Strange? What do you think we can expect from Marvel’s first foray into the world of (non-Asgardian) magic? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
