Disney to Release Covers Album, Jessie Ware Takes On Cinderella

Fancy some Disney tunes to help summon some early holiday cheer? We Love Disney is an upcoming compilation album set to release on October 30, and it includes all your favorite tracks from classic films such as Aladdin, The Muppet Movie, Frozen, Pocahontas and more. Each song is performed by familiar, well-loved artists; Fall Out Boy, Rascal Flatts, Gwen Stefani, Jessie J to name a few.

To hear a sample track, the below video showcases Jessie Ware singing “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” from Cinderella. The song features Cinderella encouraging her animal friends to never stop dreaming, a theme that is still present in the very best Disney films. It’s been covered many many times, most recently by Lily James in Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella. But we bet you don’t know the name of the original singer? It was first sung by Ilene Woods in Walt Disney’s Cinderella, all the way back in 1950, well before many of us were born. This latest version by Ware shows off her ability to hit those high notes, and her soaring vocals provide a playful sense of escapism while capturing the idea that our deepest wishes are always within arms’ reach.

So, how about comparing this to the original?

Did that get you in the mood for all things Disney? Yep, that’s what we thought. Here’s the entire track listing to We Love Disney; you know we wouldn’t keep that from you.
