Disney Papercuts Mix Animated Films and UK Landmarks

A little touch of Disney goes a long way, and Rich McCor, a.k.a. PaperBoyo, demonstrates that with his series of photos combined with Disney papercuts. DisneyLife UK teamed up with McCor to show off cutouts from Disney and Pixar animated films in natural, non-fictional settings. McCor went to landmarks around the United Kingdom and re-created scenes from movies based in London and elsewhere. For example, Peter Pan flying in the sky around Big Ben was an obvious choice, but this piece featuring The Lion King’s Simba, Pumbaa, and Timon going all hakuna matata over the Tyne Bridge is a little more out of the box.

This is making me want to carry a folder of silhouettes featuring my favorite Disney characters around with me everywhere. There’s one problem with that though: I would not have the patience to cut them out. McCor’s work is especially great because of all the details in his silhouettes. I’ve never been close friends with X-acto knives, so I marvel at the tiny shapes he’s able to capture with precision.

The gallery below has a few more of McCor’s creations including Peter Pan, Monsters, Inc., and Toy Story. Once you see all those images, you can browse all of his work at Instagram. The dude has mad skills with makeing paper cutouts. Like, really.

Because tangents are fun, which Disney character would you want to see go on vacation in London? I think Stitch would like it there. Talk to me in the comments.
