After debuting a trailer during Monday Night Football and a TV spot during “The Shonda Rhimes Block of Fun,” fans were probably wondering what out of character place the next Force Awakens promo would premiere. Thanks to the Disney Channel, we not only have that answer but some new footage to go along with it.
In the above promo, we are given a mixture of Star Wars history and Force Awakens clips. Among the new footage is the first time we see Domhnall Gleeson’s General Hux in action (well, telling a Star Destroyer to fire on an X-Wing isn’t “action” per se, but it sure does LOOK awesome). We are also given some new short clips of Rey and Finn. Rey is mentioned first, which once agains makes this article all the more important. Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron also gets some new footage and he sent shivers down my spine with his line of dialogue “We’ve got company.” If you don’t remember Han Solo yelling that to Luke while dressed in his Stormtrooper outfit, I highly recommend re-watching A New Hope. Oh, and before you go and take a fine tooth comb to this promo, Luke is STILL not in there.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released in theatres and IMAX on December 18.
So what do you think? Are you clamoring for more footage? Are you going to start doing your best to remain spoiler free for the next month or so? Why isn’t it December 18th yet? How come that kid got to sit in a X-Wing? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
