The voice cast for Marvel and Disney’s upcoming Big Hero 6 has been rumored for a few months, but now it’s official. The cast is star studded and features names that are bound to make geeks happy. Along with the voice cast reveal, Marvel and Disney have released images of the entire team for the first time, and I’m already excited.
The cast line-up is as follows: Ryan Potter (Hiro Hamada), Scott Adsit (Baymax), T.J. Miller (Fred), Jamie Chung (Go Go Tomago), Damon Wayans, Jr (Wasabi), Genesis Rodriguez (Honey Lemon), Daniel Henney (Tadashi Hamada), Maya Rudolph (Aunt Cass), James Cromwell (Professor Robert Callaghan), and last but not least, Alan Tudyk (Alistair Krei). Hiro Hamada and Baymax are at the core of the story and they were the characters featured in the first teaser. They’ll probably have the most screen time, and I think they’ll be nicely complimented by the remainder of the team.
Big Hero 6 is based on the Marvel Comic of the same name, and that comic does have anime influences. Those haven’t been apparent in images released from the movie so far, but new character portraits introduce some of those elements. You can see it in the hairstyles and clothing. The characters have big eyes too, but that’s not anything different for Disney animation.
