Did ORPHAN BLACK Just Drop a Multi-Clone Finale Scene Bomb on Us?

Well THIS sounds like it’s going to be epic as all get-out: according to the press release for the DVD and Blu-Ray release of Orphan Black‘s season season was a sort of big reveal about the June 21st finale: we’re going to get four clones in a single scene! Say what?!

That’s right: buried within the announcement that the sestrahood like no other will be getting a physical disc release on July 15th (a.k.a. next month) were details about the additional features the release is set to include that highlighted the aforementioned, never-been-done-before Tatiana MaslanyFest. Alongside the 10 episodes of this currently insane (in the best way) season, the release states that “BBC Home Entertainment is giving the audience even more to explore with extra features and exclusive content including an extended version” …of something that was apparently cut off when this sentence was never finished.

However, the line that immediately follows expands upon this mystery a bit more, adding that “This behind the scenes vignette shows how the 4-clone scene from the the season two finale was conceived and created, providing an exclusive look at never-seen-before on-set footage with running commentary from co-creator and writer Graeme Manson and co-creator and director John Fawcett sharing their vision of the scene.”

So — we’re going to see four of the clones together. But there are 5 clones we’re dealing with, currently: Sarah Manning, Helena, Rachel Duncan, Cosima Niehaus, and Alison Hendrix. What does this mean? Will one of them… not survive the season? The prospect of losing a clone feels rather likely — even though we’re terrified at which clone it may be, given the teaser for this week’s upcoming episode. As if fans haven’t had a crazy season already.

What do you think of the news that there will be an as-yet-to-be-done 4-clone mega scene in our future? Sound off in the comments below.

  1. Tiffany says:

That doesn’t mean that we are getting rid of any. Really Rachel is not in the clone club. She works for the man. So 4 in one room does sound feasible without anybody up and killing a clone

  2. Pspaughtamus says:

Perhaps we have Cosima, Sarah, Helena and Allison working together to counter Rachel?

  3. Whatever happens I am sure we will not be disappointed! The writers and Tatiana will provide an excellent season finale!

  4. Miranda says:

I think we’ll be getting a new clone thus the fourth clone. I don’t think any will die off. Rachel is too new, Helena brings so much depth into the show, and Alison’s story has too much going on for it end this soon.

  5. Drew says:

This should be good. Though hard to be last weeks two clones in the mirror shot. That was amazing,

  6. better not get rid of Cosima!! maybe she will be in the hospital, and not with the other four!!

  7. disgrunted says:

Given the history of tv shows – especially Sci-Fi – I fully expect for Cosima to bite it. Afterall, one part of a lesbian couple must always die *rolls eyes*… I’m hoping that this show will be different but not holding my breath.

  8. Love this show! Also losing a clone means the prospect of a new clone club member, because we have no idea “How many of us are there?”

  9. meant2be says:

Sounds awesome!  Already ordered!!  But poor tatiana must be so exhausted at the end of the season. She really should get paid 5 times.  Here’s hoping she gets the awards she deserves for her work.
