Actor Dennis Haysbert is probably best known as President David Palmer on the TV show 24, or as the guy on the Allstate commercials, or as Pedro Cerrano in Major League, but last weekend, he was a presenter at the 18th annual Art Directors Guild Awards in Los Angeles and Nerdist asked him about his upcoming film Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.
What was it like for the actor working on the project? “I had a great time, I worked with some wonderful people.” He confirmed that Robert Rodriguez directed his scenes and sang the praises of the director: “Robert is just so expert in what he does and the way that he handles a set is just beautiful.”
Haysbert is taking over the Manute role originally played by the late Michael Clarke Duncan in the first Sin City film. What was his take on the character? Good guy or bad guy? “Isn’t everybody in Sin City bad? I’m a very good bad guy.”
The follow up to the 2005 hit will see the return of cast members Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke and welcomes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lady Gaga, and Jeremy Piven to the ensemble.
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For opens in theaters on August 22.
Great casting! Dennis Haysbert is such a great actor!
