As people go through life, important decisions need to be made. What college am I going to attend? What am I going to be when I grow up? Do I feel like Pizza Hut or Papa John’s? For video game fans, one question ranks right up there with the others: Which Pokemon do I start with? It’s a decision that affects how your entire game is played and realizing you’ve chosen wrong, regardless of the game, is never fun.

Cody Baker has decided to have his daughter make that decision even before she can SAY Pokemon, let alone play it. In the following video posted on Polygon, Cody and his wife place the three starting Pokemon–Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle–on a blanket and without any prompting, let their daughter choose which one she will start her game with.

After a good amount of time mulling it over, she ALMOST went for Charmader, but in the end chose Squirtle. Poor Bulbasaur, who barely even received a second glance. Her parents seemed VERY excited with her choice. Let’s hope when she grows up to be a rebellious teenager, her “acting out” is to go with Bulbasaur instead of Squirtle. THAT’LL teach Cody and his wife to set her curfew for 10:00 when all of her friends get to stay out until midnight.
