DEADPOOL ‘Superb Owl’ TV Spot

The highly anticipated, already fantastically reviewed, Deadpool hits theaters this weekend and saying that we’re excited about it is an understatement. Seeing the Merc with a Mouth on the big screen is a dream come true and thankfully the TV spots for the film have been continually fantastic without giving away too much about the film.

The quick Super Bowl TV spot appears to be standard trailer fare but with the added bonus of good ol D-pool taking a jab at a stereotype of professional athletes. Proclaiming his desire to be a professional athlete because he “wanted to have children in cities all over the world.” (Burn.)

The spot is mostly comprised of re-cut shots of action-packed scenes we’ve seen in previous trailers but with a few awesome morsels of Deadpool doing what he does best. A cool slow-motion shot of a sword thrown through the front wheel of a moving motorcycle and all the explosions you could want in under a minute.

The coolest part of the trailer – other than it being named “Superb Owl” – is a rather quick moment that defines Deadpool as far as we’re concerned. Using his nearly indestructible nature to his benefit, he appears to hold tight to a wing of a plane and use an explosion behind it to propel himself toward some soldiers.DeadpoolWing020716

This is one of the things any Deadpool fan will tell you is great about the character. Knowing he can survive so much and making quick and insane decisions like that is what makes fighting him so damn tough.

How excited are you for Deadpool this weekend? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
