We have seen plenty of awesome things coming from Entertainment Weekly’s extra Comic-Con issue since last week. We got a chance to see some pictures and learn some behind-the-scenes trivia for Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, as well as see concept art for X-Men: Apocalypse. Well, it seems someone did not appreciate seeing the big boys gracing the cover, and Deadpool has made his way onto an alternate cover for the issue. The R-rated 20th Century Fox movie starring Ryan Reynolds gets its own section in the magazine, including an interview with Reynolds himself, as well as director Tim Miller and producer Simon Kinberg.
There is a quote from the interview that has everyone recognizing how much Ryan Reynolds embodies the true essence of Deadpool. In it, Reynolds comments on how he would like to thank whoever it was that leaked the Deadpool test footage from Comic-Con last year with a kiss:
“…and not just a little kiss, but full on the mouth, sloppy, with tongue, for two straight minutes on live television, without commercial interruption. And then Iâll buy you dinner at Red Lobster, at least, and dessert.”Â
The article continued on with more information from Miller and Kinberg about the film’s tone and how Miller found influence in David Fincher’s Fight Club, and the extent of embracing their hard-R rating. Kinberg promises the film will push the boundaries, and nothing will be taboo. It seems only our imagination is the limitation.
