David Spade, Fred Savage, A Table Read, And Double Weird: The Week In Podcasts

Another week, another bunch of great shows on the Nerdist Podcast Network. Yep. Proof? Okay, try these:

David Spade caught up with Chris and Matt on the Nerdist Podcast with some memories of college gigs, SNL, Chris Farley, and Just Shoot Me. He has a memoir out now, Almost Interesting. You can buy it here.

After moving from acting to great success as a sitcom director (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Fred Savage is back in front of the cameras on The Grinder, and he dropped by the Nerdist Podcast to talk about working with Rob Lowe, growing up normal despite being a child actor, working on The Princess Bride, and some financial advice.

Looking for something new and really fun? We had what amounts to a backdoor pilot for a new table read podcast, Dead Pilots Society, on Nerdist Writers Panel, with a reading of a script by Friends scribe Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen, featuring a cast including Molly Shannon, Sarah Chalke, Jamie Denbo, and lots more.

We had two big editions of You Made It Weird this week: First, comedian Jacqueline Novak , and then, a yoga-tastic sit-down with a couple of guys who combine music with Eastern spirituality, Krishna Das and David Nichtern. You got the full Pete Holmes experience this week: comedy and spirituality in abundance.

Daniel Kinno returned for another round of The Todd Glass Show.

Bowser brought us more tales of the strange (and another backyard update) on Bizarre States.

You’re the Worst‘s Collette Wolfe spoke of life, fashion, and clarinets on The JV Club.

Kevin and Steve confessed to the “things they suck at” (how about grammar, guys? Shouldn’t it be “things at which we suck?”) on Chewin’ It,

Cash and T.J. did what Cash and T.J. do in another fresh episode of Cashing In with T.J. Miller.

Writer/director Christy Swanson (King of the Hill, Awkward) visited Razzle and Mike Capes with some facts about DIsneyland, music, and the obligatory “more” on Today We Learned.

And Tom brought us part II of his conversation with Crystal Angel on Pro You.

That’s a lot. So, get on over to the Nerdist Podcast Network homepage and Facebook page and start listening. There will be a test. (Not really, but I always wanted to say that.)
