David Bowie Collectible Stamps Are Being Released in the UK

If you find yourself in the United Kingdom at some point after mid-March, it’s possible you’ll see David Bowie’s photo on pieces of mail. The late singer will be memorialized on a set of ten stamps by Royal Mail, but these are collectibles and look too great to be licked and stuck on the corner of an envelope (via NME).

You can see all ten in the tweet embedded below, or you can get a closer look at them on Royal Mail’s website.

Six of the stamps feature images of the album covers for the iconic Bowie albums Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane, Heroes, Let’s Dance, Earthling, and Blackstar, while the other four show the singer performing on 1972’s The Ziggy Stardust Tour, 1978’s The Stage Tour, 1983’s The Serious Moonlight Tour and 2004’s A Reality Tour.

“For five decades, David Bowie was at the forefront of contemporary culture, and has influenced successive generations of musicians, artists, designers and writers,” Royal Mail’s Philip Parker said in a statement. ” Royal Mail’s stamp issue celebrates this unique figure and some of his many celebrated personas.”

The stamps will be released on March 14 in various bundles, but fans are welcome to pre-order now. We’re not positive if customers with American addresses can order (I personally registered an account on the site but had problems accessing the checkout page), so please let us know if one of our fellow countrymen manages to lock down a set of these fantastic stamps.
