Darth Vader‘s amazing, ass-kicking last scene in Rogue One will forever be the moment Star Wars fans remember when they think of his appearance in the movie. But we shouldn’t forget–even if we would like to–his other scene in Rogue One. I’m talking about that cinema-history-making moment Darth freaking Vader made a terrible pun:

“Be careful not to choke on your aspirations, Director.”

Did you get it? “Choke?” Because Vader was Force choking Director Orson Krennic? Yeah you probably got it.

But it turns out, that dad joke-esque quip isn’t the only instance of Vader trying to be funny. Contrary to popular belief, when Anakin Skywalker turned to the dark side, he didn’t give up his penchant for trying to lighten the mood when necessary. Truth be told, Vader’s got jokes.

Lots and lots of jokes, it turns out–some of which seem to come at the most inappropriate times. And we here at Nerdist are happy to bring them all to you. Are they all great? No. No they are not. While a good pun can be a wonderful thing, a bad pun is the worst thing in the entire galaxy. So make sure you saber the good ones, especially before that specific pun gets beaten into the ground by Vader.
