Praise the sun! Dark Souls 3 has broken several sales records in its first week, according to Bandai Namco. Despite not releasing any specific numbers, the publisher has announced that From Sofware‘s latest title had the most successful launch day in the publisher’s history, while also becoming the fastest-selling game for the company. Furthermore, this glorious title sold 61% more than Dark Souls 2 did in its respective launch week. Not bad.
This data comes from ChartTrack (via IGN), but it unfortunately doesn’t track digital sales. What does that mean in this all-digital world we live in? Well, it’s safe to assume that the game is doing much better than even these numbers suggest. A brand new trailer also launched today, just in case you’re still on the fence about playing this gem. Check it out above!
If it isn’t clear by now just how well this title has done, here are some other impressive numbers: Dark Souls 3 has sold over 600,000 copies on Steam in the last week, while Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin edition has sold 650,000 copies lifetime on the same platform. That said, many are experiencing crashes on the PC version, so I would avoid that version for the time being. If you are one of the 600,000 who are playing with a mouse and keyboard and are dealing with said crashes, here’s a quick fix.
