DARK SOULS 3 Crashing Your PC? Here’s a Quick Fix!

PC ports for multiplatform AAA titles haven’t had a great track record recently. From Batman: Arkham Knight to Quantum Break, PC ports have been plagued with all sorts of issues. The latest game to suffer this fate is none other than Dark Souls 3. The PC version of From Software’s latest apparently has some crashing problems that have affected players as soon as they make their way to the first Bonfire, preventing them from progressing any further. As if the game wasn’t difficult enough already.

While Bandai Namco has yet to release a statement, their social media crew is instead pointing fans toward the support team. Luckily not everyone is having the crashing issues.

Worry not, young explorer, there’s a temporary fix. Many online have stated that a combination of turning the light setting to low, and/or starting the game as the Knight class has solved the problem. Long-time fans of the series aren’t going to be very happy with having to choose a class they don’t like.

Publishers and developers need to invest more time into making sure that PC ports work. It’s understandable that bugs will slip through the cracks, but this is ridiculous. It’s completely unacceptable. Hopefully Bandai Namco can find a fix sooner rather than later.

For the record, I haven’t had any issues on the Xbox One version, so if you’re still planning on purchasing the game, it might be best to go with one of the console versions. Were you guys planning on purchasing the PC version of Dark Souls 3? Are you experiencing the same problem? Have the quick fixes helped at all? Let us know in the comments below!
