DAREDEVIL Adds HOUSE OF CARDS Cinematographer For Season 2

Cinematographer Martin Ahlgren may walk away from this year’s Primetime Emmys as a winner for his work on the third season of Netflix’s House of Cards. But his next destination is the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Ahlgren has reportedly signed on to become the cinematographer of Daredevil Season 2, which is currently in production. Ahlgren has previously worked on the STARZ original series, Power, as well as the comedy special, Aziz Ansari: Buried Alive. Ahlgren has also directed several commercials and music videos, including Kanye West’s Power and Cruel Summer.

The second season of Daredevil is already heavily anticipated thanks to the additions of Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) as Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher, and Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) as Elektra. As we first reported earlier this summer, new Daredevil co-showrunner Marco Ramirez has described the second season as “Daredevil vs. The Punisher,” which implies that Frank Castle is going to have a huge role in the series.

With Ramirez and co-showrunner Doug Petrie bringing in Ahlgren as the new cinematographer, we’re even more excited to see how the action sequences between Daredevil, the Punisher, and Elektra play out on screen.

While Jason Statham was briefly rumored to be up for the role of Bullseye, Marvel Studios and Netflix have yet to publicly acknowledge when or if Bullseye will appear next season. However, Rosario Dawson is confirmed to be reprising her role as Claire Temple both in the new season of Daredevil and in the upcoming Marvel original series on Netflix.

Daredevil Season 2 will likely return to Netflix in Spring 2016.
