It seems the Harry Potter spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is pulling in even more amazing talent. It was announced by Warner Bros. that Dan Fogler, who some may remember from Fanboys as well as CBS’ The Good Wife, will be joining the likes of Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, and Ezra Miller in the magical world of J.K. Rowling’s creation.
The story sees the character of Newt Scamander, who will be played by Eddie Redmayne, traveling across the world and studying various magical creatures. Soon Newt comes to New York and meets with a muggle named Jacob that Newt befriends. Whether Jacob’s role will be a small role or not is yet to be seen, but Fogler’s previous work, plus the fact that Josh Gad and Michael Cera were both in talks for the role, suggests that he will play the comedic relief. Jacob may be to Newt what Ron Weasley was to Harry Potter.
The film will be directed by Harry Potter alum David Yates, who directed the last four entries in the series, and the screenplay will be written by none other than Rowling herself. She will also pick up a producer credit again, like she did on the Harry Potter films, along with David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram.
