Daft Punk Has Some Wonderful Old School Merch Advertisements

In 2013, Daft Punk’s album Random Access Memories was everywhere. “Get Lucky” dominated the airwaves for the summer and beyond, and it was impossible to escape mention of the band. It looks like the PR blitz for the album is actually still going on: The duo recently shared a fleet of new promotional posters for the products in their online store, and they look like beautifully nostalgic retro advertisements.

Daft Punk appears to have printed their logo on pretty much any item they could buy in bulk: shirts, posters, coffee mugs, hats, pins, buttons, stickers, pens, Frisbees, longboards, Christmas tree ornaments, tote bags, belt buckles, and yo-yos. There’s even a pair of Daft Punk “BE@RBRICK” figurines, which you can see above.

In their online store at DaftPunk.com, each item has its own old school-style advertisement, designed to look like something you may have seen while flipping through magazines in a waiting room in the ’70s or ’80s. The ads use vintage typographic and art styles to convey a feeling of contemporary nostalgia, much like Random Access Memories did with its blend of disco vibes with modern electronic flourishes.

The duo even made an official Instagram page, @daftpunkstore, solely for their online shop, which at the moment just features the same photos from their website. Also, the website gets bonus points for its super neat custom cursor.

Check out some of our favorites in the gallery below, and find the rest of the posters at DaftPunk.com. Let us know in the comments which is your favorite (we’re partial to the yo-yo ninja).
