DA VINCI’S DEMONS Star Tom Riley to Guest On DOCTOR WHO

We’ve got another guest star update for the eighth series of Doctor Who, which is currently filming. It’s been announced that Tom Riley, star of Starz’ Da Vinci’s Demons, will be guest-starring on an episode which doesn’t have a public title yet but has been written by longtime scribe for the series, and cohort of Lead Writer Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, this according to the official BBC Doctor Who website.

Riley plays Leonardo Da Vinci in the Starz program and has also been in television shows like Twenty Twelve and Freezing as well as the film St. Trinians 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold, which also starred David Tennant, of whom you may have heard. Gatiss, of course, has written such Doctor Who episodes as “The Unquiet Dead,” “Cold War,” and “The Crimson Horror,” as well as co-writing and co-executive producing BBC’s Sherlock.

The episode in question is set to begin filming soon. Not familiar with Riley? Here’s a bit of him in Da Vinci’s Demons:
