We’ve known for about a year now that HBO’s beloved Curb Your Enthusiasm is on its way back to TV, but since then, details have been scant. We’re starting to learn more about the legendary comedy’s return to television now, though: Last month at the Roots Picnic, JB Smoove revealed on stage that the show was coming back to HBO on October 1st. Now, that date has been confirmed by HBO itself, which just officially announced that the Season 9 debut of Curb will air on the first at 10 p.m. (via ScreenCrush).
The announcement was accompanied by a teaser video starring Larry David, standing on a rotating platform and donning a toga and plant crown, that footage interspersed with the trailer’s totally on-brand tagline: “He left. He did nothing. He returned.” HBO also shared a poster that bears the same words:
Along with David and Smoove, a lot of stars from the show’s original run will be reprising their roles, including Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, Susie Essman, Ted Danson, and Mary Steenburgen. Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham will also have a significant role this season, although we’re not quite sure yet what her role is going to be.
Pret-ty, pret-ty, good.
