In just one day (or tonight, if you’re into that sort of thing), Paramount will be putting its money where its mouth is with the release of the much talked about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. As word slowly begins rolling in, all we normal folk can do is look to various trailers and TV spots released over the last few months to get a sense of what weâll be walking into on Friday. But now, thanks to Yahoo!, we can get a fresh look at the new movie with an all new action scene that has been released for your viewing pleasure:
The most important thing we get a sense of with this clip is the filmâs willingness to be funny. How the turtles, at their heart, are in fact as their name would describe, teenagers. They crack jokes, they get witty and they rap it out in an elevator right before doing some serious battling. Those are the elements we were hoping to see when we first learned of the filmâs green-lit production, and it looks like we got our wish in the end.
Itâs also really nice to have a clip featuring a little catch-phrase action. It wouldnât be a TMNT movie if Michelangelo isnât yelling out a few Cowabungas now and again, and now we know we wonât be going without when this latest iteration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits theaters.
What do you think of the new clip? Will you be seeing the film this weekend? Let us know in the comments below.

IGN gave it a solid 6/10 not bad right? i wont watch it in the cinema though…
It looks like FUN! Remember that? When you went to movies ‘cuz they looked like FUN? Jeepers, relax peoples!
You people take it way to serious. Nobody is going to bottle up your childhood and put it on big screen exactly how you want it. Just take it at face value and enjoy the movie. I am taking my son and while it may not be the Turtles I grew up with, I am going to enjoy it because he is… Cowabunga!
too serious*
Finally, someone who makes sense, thank you for being rational. Some people take this way too serious and really judge this thing harsh. It isn’t what I grew up with in the early 90’s but it’s fun and I’m sure your son will love it.
I can see what they are going for. They got those few moments to gather themselves before seeing Shredder and Mikey gets them syked up. It’s totally understandable. Like a fighter before they get into the ring.
this is the second time that Nerdist has posted a video that I have posted just within the last 4 days. I’m flattered but srsly. I want royalties. Or at least a a shoutout.. dayum
Well.. that was boring.
Eastman and Laird (were they dead) would be rolling in their graves.
I can’t believe they put out maybe the biggest laugh in the movie.
Desperate to get people to go see it.
