CoverGirl’s STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Collection

Will you choose the dark side or the light when Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters? I’m not talking about the Force, I’m talking about makeup. CoverGirl is launching a Star Wars-themed line that features The Force Awakens logo and Jedi and Sith-inspired palettes. The company hasn’t officially announced the collection or a release date, but Star Wars fan site Rebelscum received images showing off the galactic cosmetics. Don’t worry–there aren’t any spoilers.

As a fan of both Star Wars and makeup, I like this concept. I am one thousand percent more likely to fork over credits for a tube of lipstick named after Yoda than a tube of lipstick called well, anything else. I’m a sucker in that way, and I know I’m not the only one. The imagery used in the campaign is not my favorite, but I’m on board with the general idea and will be giving the products a closer look once they’re on shelves.

The Star Wars collection appears to include mascara featuring quotes from the films–quotes from the original trilogy and at least one line we’ve heard in a trailer for The Force Awakens, lipstick, and nail polish. But since there are also suggested light and dark side looks by makeup artist Pat McGrath, I imagine blush and eye shadow will also be available.

You can see more photos of the Star Wars makeup in the gallery below. Will you be buying any of these items from CoverGirl? Head to the comments and weigh in.
