October is basically all about cosplay. People who never think about dressing up throughout the year spend hours and weekends working on that one perfect costume for Halloween. If you have friends who love toiling away on Halloween ensembles and don’t know that it’s possible to wear costumes year-round at conventions, educate them! Make it your mission this month to explain the joys of cosplay. Conventions are sort of like Halloween parties – there’s just less candy and better lighting. I’ve seen Halloween costumes be the gateway for a few people, and it’s always good to bring more creative and enthusiastic folks into the hobby.
