Cosplay Friday #165 – DC SUPER HERO GIRLS, Leia, and More

The web series DC Super Hero Girls flew onto the scene last October, focusing on teenage versions of Wonder Woman, Katana, Harley Quinn, and other heroes and villains who attend Super Hero High. The show, which also included a television special in March, is about empowerment, friendship, and self discovery. I know, that sounds cheesy. But the story is relatable and tons of fun. Bonus: the show comes with its own line of action figures and dolls and costume accessories so kids can become heroes and make their own stories.

I’m rambling about DC Super Hero Girls in Cosplay Friday because it’s been warming my heart to see young girls embrace the series and its positivity. This group from WonderCon was quite enthusiastic about the series and dressed like much of the main cast. Prepare to faint of awesomeness.

These girls are all my heroes.

That’s not all. Head to the gallery below to see an excellent Miles Morales, a spot-on Kimmy Schmidt, and a mourning Leia inspired by The Force Awakens.
