Dark Horse Is Having A Star Wars Farewell Sale, And You’ve Only Got Hours Left

You literally only have hours to get the last batch of Star Wars Comics produced by Dark Horse, as on January 1st 2015, they disappear as the Star Wars license goes over to Marvel. For just $300, you can get the entire Star Wars comics collection from Dark Horse, 568 issues, a lot of them being classic books that frankly, will never see reprinting again now that Disney is flushing all that Expanded Universe stuff from the last twenty years down the continuity toilet. Is DC Teaming Up Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman with Adam West’s Batman?

DC Comics is following up their successful Batman ’66 comic, which features the Adam West and Burt Ward iterations of the characters, with Wonder Woman ’77 in 2015, which, like Batman ’66, will take place in the continuity of the character’s old television show and feature the Lynda Carter version of Wonder Woman.

In a recent interview, Wonder Woman ’77 writer Marc Andreyko hinted that there in fact might be a crossover brewing between those two properties, saying ” (Batman ’66 writer) Jeff Parker and I really want to do, if this book goes well, we really want to do a Batman ’66/Wonder Woman ’77 crossover. I have some ideas that I bounced off Jeff. Once we see if this comic takes off, hopefully that will be something that we’ll be able to get off the ground.” But what about the third member of the DC Trinity? Could Superman (in the form of Christopher Reeve) pop up too? According to Andreyko, “they’re only a year apart. So…”  Make that happen DC. Marvel Teases Latest Uncanny Avengers Images, This Time With A Mutant And A Synthezoid

Just like last week’s Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch promos for Marvel’s new Uncanny Avengers series, Marvel has dropped two new preview images for the series, this time featuring series regulars Rogue and the Vision, both sporting new looks, and dropping cryptic quotes on us. I’m just glad that despite whatever his new movie look might be, comic book Vision is still sporting the propped collar. Way to keep it old school, Vizh. [Comic Book Resources]

Geoff Johns Previews Batman: Earth One Volume 2 Pages On Instagram

We’ve known for awhile now that Geoff Johns’ and Gary Frank’s long awaited follow up to their 2012 OGN Batman: Earth One was coming sometime in 2015, but it’s been a long time since we’ve had any new news on it. This week, Johns released a new art preview via his Instagram account, and also teased the inclusion of the Riddler, Harvey Dent and Killer Croc in Volume 2. [Newsarama]

Brian Michael Bendis Shares Powers #1 Variant Cover With The Television Cast

Much as Geoff Johns used social media to tease Batman: Earth One, Brian Michael Bendis similarly shared the new variant cover for his and Michael Avon Oeming’s soon to be relaunched  Powers #1 on his tumblr page. The cover features Sharlto Copley and Susan Heyward as series protagonists Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim from the upcoming Playstation Network live-action version of the series. Valiant Issues Themed Variant Covers For Their Valiant Next Initiative 

Valiant this week announce a series of themed variants by designer Tom Muller and some of Valiant’s stop artists that are set to be published with various new series launched as part of the whole “Valiant Next” initiative early in the new year. Here’s the full line-up of titles: Ivar, Timewalker #1 by Fred Van Lente and Clayton Henry in January, Divinity #1 (of 4) by Matt Kindt and Trevor Hairsine in February, Imperium #1 by Joshua Dysart and Doug Braithwaite in February, Ninjak #1 by Matt Kindt, Clay Mann, and Butch Guice in March and Bloodshot Reborn #1 by Jeff Lemire and Mico Suayan in April. Marvel And ESPN Team Up For 1 of 1: Genesis

So just what do Marvel Comics and 24 hour sports network have in common? Well, not much, except when you realize both are owned by the Walt Disney Company. And just like the also-owned-by-Disney Star Wars and Marvel are coming together soon, Marvel and ESPN are joining up for 1 of 1: Genesis, a new on-demand film exploring the concept that today’s athletes are actually real-life superheroes (I think someone forgot to remind them that superheroes don’t just do super feats, they fight crime and save people, but I guess those are just details.) The movie showcases comic footage combined with clips and interviews of actual athletes, and is now available on Google Play and YouTube for $14.99. Check out the trailer below.
