Happy Halloween, comics fans! In today’s edition of Comics Relief, we have some Halloweeny goodness, mostly of the zombie kind, not to mention hints from Marvel about a Spider-Man/Mary Jane re-wedding, and the return of a beloved DC team. But this being All Hallow’s Eve and all, it is only fitting we should  get started with the zombies…
Robert Kirkman Squashes Some Persistent Walking Dead Theories
Since it’s Halloween, let’s start with some zombie related news; recently, website Uproxx brought back to life an old fan theory in regards to The Walking Dead (both the comics AND the show) that Rick Grimes never actually woke up from the coma he was in at the start of the series, and all the events of the zombie apocalypse is just one long coma dream. Wait, what??
Not so fast, says creator Robert Kirkman, who tweeted out  âGoing on record to answer this, Rick is NOT still in a coma. The events of TWD are definitely happening.â Kirkman added a little joke at the end, âBut Carl and everyone else are all imagined. He actually NEVER found his family. Heâs been crazy since he killed his first zombie. #joking?â (That’s just mean, Kirkman.) [Uproxxx]

DC Brings Back The Legion of Super-Heroes From Comic Book Exile
The Legion of Super-Heroes was one of DC’s longest running teams, pre-dating even the Justice League. Last year, both Legion books, Legion of Super-Heroes and Legion Lost, were cancelled due to low sales, leaving DC fans to wonder if after over fifty years, there would be no more Legion. Well, speaking with Newsarama, JLU writer Jeff Lemire talked about bringing the classic Legion back in this week’s JLU Annual. “This is very much the traditional, sort of classic Legion….I just approached it not as a reboot or another re-imagining of the Legion. Rather, I just⦠as close as I can, I’m just bringing it back to what people think of as a classic Legion and not worrying too much about all the minutia of continuity. It’s very much the classic Legion.” Can a new title for the team be far behind? Peter Parker and Mary Jane Back Together? And With A Little Spider-Girl In Tow?
One of the most controversial moves from Marvel Comics from the past several years was the end of Spider-Man’s marriage to Mary Jane Watson after some twenty plus years in the “One More Day” storyline. Now Marvel is teasing not only the return of the MJ And Spidey relationship, but also the return of their daughter May Parker, who becomes the future Spider-Girl. The image (with art by Adam Kubert)  shows the Parker family with the tagline “Renew Your Vows.” This is probably all part of some alternate timeline in the upcoming Secret Wars redux coming in 2015, but fans of the Spidey and MJ relationship might have something to get excited about finally after all this time. Free Comic Book Day Reduces Titles for 2015
Last year, there were some seventy free comics provided for the annual Free Comic Book Day event held around the country. This year, the number falls to fifty. According to Bleeding Cool, “Publishers expecting their submissions to go through without problems have have discovered their two titles slashed to one â or none…. as a result 2015 may be the first year in which the amount of comic books given away free – now at four and a half million â  falls.” [Bleeding Cool]

Before it was a big budget Disney animated film, Big Hero 6 was a little known Marvel comic, originally starring former X-Man Sunfire. New Imprint “Double Take” Launches With Night of the Living Dead Series
We started today’s Comics Relief with zombies, and thus it shall end with zombies. Bill Jemas, the man who (along with Joe Quesada) brought Marvel back to relevance in the early 2000s, is starting a new imprint called Double Take, with its first major project being a series of comics based on the classic 1968 horror film Night of the Living Dead. The movie that launched the very idea of the zombie apocalypse that The Walking Dead has mined so well. Double Takeâs first comics in this  series will be called Soul, Insurrection, and Rise, and will follow characters from the film both before and after the events of the movie.
