Still recovering from your House of Cards binge fest? Need a convenient pick-me-up to erase all that drama from your mind? Today’s Comedy Playlist will remind you that good people do still exist and some will even make you laugh. On today’s roster we have for you some “Before You Were Funny” with Paul Scheer and friends, a snippet of Conan O’Brien‘s interview with comedian Aziz Ansari, and an episode of the AOL Original series That’s Racist with Mike Epps.
“Before You Were Funny” is a podcast but also a Funny or Die animated web series where comedians share their oldest, most embarrassing work. In this episode, Paul Scheer submits a sketch about genies called “The Closet” and performs it with the assistance of fellow comedians Kristen Schaal and Andy Daly. The sketch is filled with a bunch of confusing riddles that somehow reveal the location of some lost keys. What’s even funnier is Scheer was certain it could land him a gig on SNL.
Next up we have this awesome segment from Conan where Parks & Recreation star Aziz Ansari reveals he received a very special (and kinda gross) gift from Aubrey Plaza when the show ended. What makes the surprise even funnier is the follow-up information Aubrey provides after the presenting Ansari with the heartfelt gift.
Finally, it’s about time we get to know one another even better through the power of comedy. In this AOL Original, comedian Mike Epps digs deep to uncover the facts and fiction behind racial stereotypes and the jokes associated with them. This episode of “That’s Racist” features a roundtable of witty conversation from comedians Randy and Jason Sklar, Helen Hong, Rick Overton, John Viener and Sharon Houston. Mike also spends time getting to the bottom of the age-old mystery, âWhy do racist jokes exist?â with some assistance from expert/author Peter McGraw, Professor of Psychology at UC Boulder.
