Comedy Playlist: Night of Too Many Stars, Adam Sandler, & THE JACK AND TRIUMPH SHOW

Loverboy was right. Everybody IS working for the weekend and, boy, what a weekend it will be. Sunday night on Comedy Central the Night of Too Many Stars offers up an unforgettable evening of laughter in the name of charity. Today’s playlist not only features Happy Gillmore’s Adam Sandler and Bob Barker reuniting for this good cause, but it also includes Sandler’s interview on Conan AND Too Many Stars creator Robert Smigel discussing his new jam The Jack and Triumph Show.

Everyone remembers that epic scene from Happy Gilmore where Adam Sandler and Bob Barker have an insane fight on the golf green. Well, this uncensored clip shows that the boys still have more than a little fight left in them. The two engage in a battle of words and then follow up with some real dirty combat. This is certainly the most unconventional and hilarious way to raise money for supporting schools, programs, and services for the autistic.

It’s hard to top an interaction like that, but you really can’t lose with more Adam Sandler. The SNL vet shares some stories with Conan O’Brien about when they first met, a memorable dinner with SNL host Michael Keaton and the SNL writing staff, plus the unique restaurant ordering habits of the late Chris Farley.

The final video ends our maze of links to the Night of Too Many Stars and SNL. You might remember Robert Smigel for his TV Funhouse animated shorts and as the voice of Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog. On Late Night with Seth Meyers, Smigel talks with the host about his new series on Adult Swim, The Jack and Triumph Show. Smigel explains that the two main characters used to be in a Lassie type show together in the 80s. We see a clip from the show where Triumph, who plays a fictional version of himself, does a live remote. As you might imagine, the insults are free-flowing.

Remember, kids, you can always point @SOoooohaha to new videos you’d like to see on the Comedy Playlist.
