Comedy Playlist: Gender Wage Equality, Late Night Promotion Madness, & Too Much Tuna

There are those who find the use of the idiom “Hump Day” to be a most objectionable practice. In fact, I’ve found some disagree with it’s rampant use so much they’d easily go to blows with it’s supporters. I do not side with anti-HD faction. Hump Day is the one day of the week where you can clearly spy the weekend in the distance. If I sat atop my imaginary camel (aptly named Wednesday), I’d shout “Eureka!” as I set my sights on the non-stop party that Friday offers. So suck it up you party poopers, because this is one kickass Hump Day. Not only are we halfway to the unabashed revelry of the weekend, but there is quality comedy to entertain to you on the way. Laugh as Kristen Schaal sobers you up about the gender wage issue on The Daily Show, cackle proudly as The Late Late Show’s James Corden takes social media marketing to a whole new level, and celebrate Kroll Show’s passing with the ultimate prank by Gil and George. You’re almost there, kids, almost.

The Daily Show is not a program that shies away from the controversial. Rather they bring those popular touchy subjects to the forefront with informed wit we just can’t refuse. The Daily Show’s Senior Women’s Issues Correspondent, Kristen Schaal, had a bit of fun reporting on the realization that we may see flying cars and 3-D printed hearts before equal pay in the workplace happens. Mamma mia!

Let’s move from the workplace to the late night desk. We are so relieved James Corden is getting his due respect as the new host of The Late Late Show. He may be getting the critical nod he needs but public opinion is what counts most these days. Watch as Corden rallies a following with every type of social media known to man, literally.

After that hilarious, but exhaustive listing, it’s about time for some pescetarian eats. Kroll Show may be have ended, but that doesn’t mean we can’t cling to our favorite characters forever. I for one will greatly miss the delicious elderly duo of Gil Faizon (Nick Kroll) and George St. Geegland (John Mulaney). The gents target their medical muse Dr. Neuringer (Megan Neuringer) for their final “Too Much Tuna” prank.

Tell us what Kroll Show characters you’ll miss most below. Sniffle. Happy Hump Day!
